✨🤩College Autism Readiness Retreat (CARR) - CARR 3 Library Passport Event🤩✨ In-Person
The College Autism Readiness Retreat, CARR for short, is a week-long retreat for High School Students (New graduates, 18 years or older) who intend to pursue a four-year undergraduate degree.
Students will experience an on-campus per college prep. Experiences include:
- Living in a Residence Hall overnight
- Accessing the Dining Hall
- Acquire information, destinations, and experiences with Campus services (including Health and Wellness Services, Psychological and Counseling Services, Student Success Center and Tutoring Services, and Autism resources).
- Touring and experiencing various on-campus facilities (including the Student Recreational Center, Library, the Student Union, Bookstore, Dining Halls, Residential Buildings, and Academic Buildings)
- Participation in a variety of Classroom/Activity formats (small classroom and lecture halls)
- Acquire, practice, and/or generalize college classroom etiquette and communication skills
- Learning and differentiating between entitlement and eligibility (IDEA vs ADA) for high school to higher education.
*Students will stop at the University Libraries (Francis Harvey Green Library and Presser Music Library) for fun activities, to learn about our spaces, and to explore our resources.

We invite CARR 3 students to visit the Francis Harvey Green Library for our Library Passport event.
Students will participate in our annual library passport event, where they will travel through our library and discover our spaces and service points. They will learn about our key service centers, our resources, and how they can help make college application decisions. They will also ask us questions about our library operations and programs, and get to know some of our library employees.
